Are you facing challenges in class? Need a study buddy for your homework? Our amazing tutoring services are here for you year-round, and they’re absolutely FREE! We visit all 4 schools every week and are always eager to provide extra study sessions.
UB staff meet with participants weekly at their high schools for educational lessons and individual support. Virtual and self-paced participants attend the required in-person UB-office meeting Wednesdays from 10:00–10:30 a.m. The same lesson is taught and attendance is recorded under the same standard. A documented accommodation or approved equivalent may be arranged individually. Separately scheduled tutoring remains distinct from the weekly meeting.
Monthly Saturday Academies bring participants together for required educational workshops on college readiness, academics, financial literacy, career preparation, and other approved topics. College, career, and cultural visits or excursions may be scheduled according to the current official calendar, approved funding, capacity, transportation, and safety requirements. The number and destinations may vary. Participation is subject to the current written criteria and documented accommodations or approved alternatives.

Summer Academy is a six-week college-readiness experience unless the U.S. Department of Education approves a shorter period. The planned model is five residential/instructional weeks followed by a sixth service week. Students may receive academic instruction, life-skills programming, approved work-study opportunities, advising, and supervised activities. Work-study, trips, destinations, and travel eligibility depend on the approved budget, staffing, capacity, safety requirements, and current written criteria. Travel is not guaranteed. A student who does not travel completes the approved five-day alternate-service plan for the sixth week. Eligible graduating seniors may participate in approved Bridge coursework and advising; financial-aid and scholarship terms must be verified annually.
Personalized Advising – Academic, career, and postsecondary-planning support.
Financial Aid and Application Help – Guidance with current college, scholarship, and aid processes.
Stipends – May be offered to eligible full-time participants within federal limits and the approved budget. Participation or grade improvement alone does not guarantee payment.
ACT Preparation and Fee Waivers – Available only after annual confirmation and when the student meets the issuing organization’s current eligibility rules.
Tutoring – Academic support under the current tutoring policy.
Trips and Saturday Academies – Scheduled according to the official calendar, approved funding, capacity, safety requirements, and written participation criteria.
Financial literacy, cultural enrichment, peer connection, and senior workshops support postsecondary readiness.
Program services are provided without charge to eligible participants, subject to the current award and approved program design.
