Stay Connected & Supported!

Upward Bound staff meet with participants weekly at their high schools for educational lessons, announcements, grade and progress review, and individual support.

Virtual and self-paced participants attend the required in-person meeting at the UB office on Wednesdays from 10:00–10:30 a.m. The same lesson is taught, and attendance is recorded under the same standard used for students served at their schools. A documented accommodation or approved equivalent may be arranged individually.

Weekly meetings may address course planning, study strategies, college and career readiness, financial literacy, ACT practice, goals, upcoming activities, and academic progress. Separately scheduled tutoring remains distinct from the weekly meeting. Current school-visit times and approved changes are communicated directly by UB staff and shown on the official program calendar.

The Upward Bound Program at Neosho County Community College is 100 percent federally funded by the United States Department of Education, with an annual budget of $309,505 to serve 55 students. Award # P047A221025.
