Stay Connected & Supported!

Each week, Upward Bound staff visit your school, giving you a chance to check in, share struggles, and get help when you need it. These visits strengthen relationships and ensure support is always available.

The majority of each school visit is comprised of a lesson given by the Academic Coordinator. Each semester will include several lessons related to which courses provide a rigorous curriculum and creating a semester-by-semester plan of what to take and when to take the classes best suited to you. Other lessons include practicing tricky ACT questions, career awareness and explanation, college terminology, social skills, goal-setting, and study strategies.

Weekly meetings also include announcements about the upcoming Scholarly Saturday, reminders to see your tutor each week, grade checks, and details about any upcoming Senior Workshops or trips.

The Upward Bound Program at Neosho County Community College is 100 percent federally funded by the United States Department of Education, with an annual budget of $309,505 to serve 55 students. Award # P047A221025.
