UB Summer Academy

Get ready for an incredible adventure with the Upward Bound Summer Academy! This thrilling six-week journey is designed to immerse our high school participants in the exciting world of college life. Students will not only enhance their personal and social skills but also experience living in a residence hall and attending engaging classes on the vibrant NCCC campus. Throughout the first five weeks, they'll dive into academic subjects like Literature, Composition, Math, Science, and Spanish while also gaining valuable Life Skills through personal mentoring and cultural events that broaden their horizons. Mornings are filled with enlightening classes, and evenings are packed with fun activities! Plus, students earn money for their successful participation—some even have the chance to boost their earnings with a Work-Study Job!

But that's not all! The grand finale of this amazing program is a fully-funded educational trip out of state, where students will explore at least two colleges/universities, unique art exhibits, science museums, and historical sites. The Summer Academy is the perfect mix of summer camp fun, academic rigor, and unforgettable travel experiences. And it's all FREE! Don’t miss out on this extraordinary opportunity to simulate college life and create lasting friendships and memories!

Summer 2025

Summer 2025 plans are well underway! Interested students should attend one of our two Informational meetings.

These meetings are your chance to learn all the details about the Upward Bound Summer Academy! We'll explain the dates, the classes, the rooming situation, the food, and the fun! We'll reveal our Summer Theme and where we plan to go on our end-of-summer trip!

All Summer Academy participants must attend one of the two meeting options and must bring a parent/guardian with them. Save the dates - Tuesday, MAY 6TH or Thursday, MAY 8TH. Both meetings will begin at 6:30 pm and will be in the Stoltz Lecture Hall on the NCCC Campus (800 West 14th St., Chanute, KS 66720). Send us an email at NCCCUB@gmail.com to RSVP!

We'll update all the links below after we have revealed all of our summer secrets, but for now, you can explore some of the details from previous summers. Keep in mind that some things have changed, so the prior year's info won't match exactly what we will do this year.
